User Service Condition Agreement

1. Location Access for Wellbeing Checks

To enable our wellbeing check and SOS services to function effectively, the Karzame Virtual Safety Assistant app requests access to your device’s location when you initiate a wellbeing check or SOS request. This may include access while the app is running in the background or closed, for the duration of that active request, so we can provide prompt assistance during emergency situations.

You may decline background location access in your device settings. Doing so may limit our ability to monitor your safety or dispatch assistance once you leave the app. You can review how your location data is used in our [Privacy Policy].

2. Prohibited Conduct

The following actions are strictly prohibited:

Sending fake SOS messages
Participating in cyber attacks or any malicious use of the app
Engaging in criminal activities to exploit or misuse the app

Users found engaging in any of these activities may face legal consequences, including but not limited to arrest and prosecution.

3. Penalty for Fake SOS Messages

Sending false SOS alerts is strictly prohibited. Any user found sending fake SOS messages will be fined $100, or its equivalent in the country’s local currency, per message sent by the sender. Karzame reserves the right to pursue legal action, including seeking redress for damages in a court of law.

4. Legal Action Against Misuse

Karzame reserves the right to take legal action against users involved in:

Sending fake SOS messages
Participating in cyber attacks
Misusing the app for fraudulent activities

Such violations may lead to arrest, prosecution, or other legal consequences.

Disclaimer Policy

1. Introduction
Karzame Virtual Safety Assistant (“Karzame”) is a service provided by Karzame Technologies LLC, in partnership with other stakeholders, to enhance personal safety and security. While we strive to provide timely assistance, we cannot guarantee a response from security agents or partner authorities in all situations.

2. Limitation of Liability
In the event that security agents or partner authorities fail to respond to an SOS alert, Karzame Technologies and its partners shall not be held liable for any damages, losses, or harm incurred by the user. This limitation also extends to any legal claims against Karzame Technologies and its stakeholders.

3. Responsibility of Nigerian Security Authorities
The protection of life and property is the statutory responsibility of government security authorities. Karzame’s SOS Dispatch System is designed to alert relevant contacts and connect users to Nigerian security authorities as quickly as possible; Karzame acts solely as a communication and coordination layer.

While Karzame provides a direct connection to these authorities, we cannot guarantee their response time, deployment, or effectiveness, including where a contacted authority declines or fails to act on a dispatch. This may occur due to:

Network failures
Refusal or non-response by the contacted security authority
Other issues beyond Karzame’s control

Karzame Technologies shall not be held liable for the actions, inaction, or refusal to respond of any third-party security authority or agent contacted through the app.

4. Dispatch Records

Full trip data (including location trail, notes, and call/chat details) is emailed to the user after each trip or SOS event and is then deleted from Karzame’s servers.

Karzame separately retains a minimal dispatch record for each SOS event, consisting of:

Trip/dispatch ID
Timestamp
Which authority or agent was contacted
Response status (acted / declined / no response), and when that status was logged

This minimal record does not include location trails, notes, or call/chat content. It is retained for a limited period as described in our Privacy Policy and may be used by Karzame to demonstrate that a dispatch was made in good faith and in accordance with these Terms, including as evidence in the event of a legal claim or dispute.

5. User Agreement
By using the Karzame Virtual Safety Assistant application, users agree to release Karzame Technologies and its partners from any liability if an SOS message does not receive a response.

6. Changes to Disclaimer Policy
Karzame Technologies reserves the right to modify or update this disclaimer policy at any time without prior notice. Users are encouraged to review this policy periodically. Continued use of the Karzame Virtual Safety Assistant implies acceptance of any updates.
